Release Notes
It’s simply just one code file; it simulates AI and machine in a simulated world. The AI has a little understanding of its body machine and parts, and able to use its feet to do actions just start and stop walking. The world is all of white with nothing but just the machine on a white planet. Colors, odors and position information make no sense.
I’m previous C# programmer and I’m learning F# during this project, although I’m still not a good F# programmer, in this project I learning to programming in F# rule, the hole program is a big functions processes state records, no object-orientation, never called to define class or mutable values. And I hope this code make demonstration for other bodies learning to programming in F# just like me.
This version uses console for UI, it’s like text MUD game when you talk with it, for a demonstrate of using please look at the image in downloads. It requires Visual Studio 2010 with F# component to compile.
This first release is just built by my simply idea. And it’s not valuable to make academic AI demonstrations, but I’m glad somebody professional will interest in it and make it improves.
The plan for next version is to support to change the light of environment on and off, and AI will notice to use eyes to note the world’s color changing between black and white. And maybe I’ll add a GUI, since F#s programming pattern is different than classical .Net, it will cost some effort to build adapter layer.
A separate project names “I” will also releases later, since the AI project is built to managing and talk to hardware and simulates generic robot, the project “I” will build based on AI project and focus to simulate humanoid. As I didn’t figured out specified name, I just like them simply named.
